How To Manage A Messy Home

How do you feel about your living space? Is it cluttered and messy, or is it neat and organized? The answer to that question can often be seen in the state of your bedroom. Many people are guilty of leaving their bedroom a mess for weeks on end. This may be because they don’t spend enough time in there during the day, or maybe they don’t care about cleaning up after themselves when they’re done with it. If this sounds like you, then I highly recommend following these six steps!

1. Keep your bedroom tidy

It’s not as difficult to maintain a clean bedroom if it doesn’t have clothes and boxes stacked up on the floor. Keep your bed made, organize any dressers or closet space you might have, and try not to leave the dirty laundry for more than 24 hours.

This may require setting some time aside every day just for cleaning. To make this manageable, try doing it after you shower or when you wake up in the morning.

Be sure to keep your bedroom clean so that not only will you have somewhere nice and tidy to sleep in each night, but also because a messy room can cause stress and make it hard for people to focus on other things – like work!

2. Make sure all of the dishes are clean when you put them away

If you are overwhelmed by the number of dishes in your sink or dishwasher, take a few minutes to wash them.

It’s less daunting when you only have six things left rather than thirty-six. But, then, once they’re clean and dry, put them away so that someone else doesn’t accidentally use something dirty!

3. Hang up clothes as soon as they come out of the dryer and fold them right away

If you leave laundry in a pile, it starts to smell bad.

If you hang up clothes right after they come out of the dryer (or off the line!), it will still be fresh and clean-smelling. Folding them as soon as possible also helps keep wrinkles from forming! This way, your clothes are ready for wear when you are headed out the door.

4. Clean up after yourself

This is pretty self-explanatory. If you want your house to be neat and clean, then it’s up to you! Do what needs to be done so that people can easily navigate through your space without having to avoid clutter.

It may seem like a lot of work to keep up with, but it should only take about a half-hour each day to maintain. If you’re not sure where to start or what needs the most attention, find an area that’s easy and manageable for your skill level!

5. Put things back where they belong once you’ve used them

If you put things back right away after you’ve used them, you’ll eliminate the need for a lot of time-consuming clean-up later. It may take some practice to get into this habit, but it will save so much more time in the long run!
